Observation Cars [Car Nos. 1 and 6]

Large glass windows allow travelers to enjoy extravagant front views.

The first car is a high-deck model that provides commanding views through its large glass windows. The scenery at the front of the train can be enjoyed to its fullest. Lockers are available near the entrance, so seats are more roomy without lots of luggage.

Three salon seating areas are available on each Group Seating Car. These seats include large tables and are perfect for enjoying group travel.

A relaxing space to take off your shoes, stretch out and chat.


Enjoy a comfortable relaxing time in a Japanese-style room with a horigotatsu-like table (low table with a hole in the floor) and legless chairs, in addition to soft indirect lighting.

A cozy space with a roomy couch, just like a living room.

This room has an L-shaped sofa and table installed where travelers can spread out and relax as if they were in a living room.

Café Car [Osaka Namba Sta., Kyoto Sta. Departure/Arrival Car No. 3 / Kintetsu Nagoya Sta. Departure/Arrival Car No. 4]

Here travelers can enjoy the ever-changing scenery, as well as light meals made of famous products from along the Kintetsu line.

Upstairs café : 13 seats

In this two-story Café Car, travelers can enjoy a unique menu of foods and drinks special to Shimakaze that are made of products from along the Kintetsu line. The upstairs café provides an open space with a counter table, from which travelers can enjoy the ever-changing scenery.
The downstairs café provides a soothing space with comfortable sofas.
