The first car is a high-deck model that provides commanding views through its large glass windows. The scenery at the front of the train can be enjoyed to its fullest. Lockers are available near the entrance, so seats are more roomy without lots of luggage.

In this two-story Café Car, travelers can enjoy a unique menu of foods and drinks special to Shimakaze that are made of products from along the Kintetsu line. The upstairs café provides an open space with a counter table, from which travelers can enjoy the ever-changing scenery.
The downstairs café provides a soothing space with comfortable sofas.
